WILLIAM FRED HARNEY (1892-1966)
In the attached photo, Wm Fred is sitting on his father's knee.
Known as Fred, he was the son of William Francis Harney and Ann Amelia (Smith) of Illinois. Fred is shown on the 1920 Census as W. Fred Harney, 27, Springfield, Sangamon County, IL, with his first wife Olive (Gunsten), and their daughters
Fred married three times, first to Olive C Gunsten, second to Elva Fields, and the third was Bertha (Bond-Holbrook) Landholt.
His third wife was born Bertha Bond, was the daughter of J.J. Bond and Elizabeth Holbrook. She was later adopted by her grandparents with surname of Holbrook.
Obituary: William F. Harney, 74, of Springfield, died Saturday at Claudia's Nursing Home. Mr. Harney was born in Waverly. A member of the Eagles lodge, he had been a resident of Springfield for 50 years. Surviving are his wife Bertha D. Harney; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Long, Mrs. Helen Thompson and Mrs. Charlotte Collyard, all of Chicago; four step-sons, Edward Landholt, Richard Landholt, and Raymond Landholt, all of Springfield and Floyd Reenstine, Peoria; one brother, Kenneth Harney, of Plainwell, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Maude Nelson, of Springfield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
