Elza Green Harney was born 15 March 1881 (or 1880), the son of Willoughby Oscar Harney and Susan (Harney), of Buena Vista, Harrison county, Kentucky. Both parents were Harneys.

He married Bertha Vida Harney 17 Feb 1904, in Harrison co., the daughter of John William Harney and Elizabeth F. (White). Elza G. and Bertha V Harney had two sons:

• Floyd Oscar (b.1905) and
• Stanley David Harney (b.1907).

Elza died 28 May 1966, KY.

Research Note: The Social Security Death Index gives the birth date as 15 Mar 1880, and died in Lexington, Fayette county, Kentucky. Military records have 15 Mar 1881. The Find-a-Grave site has birth as 15 Mar 1881. says he died in Harrison county, Kentucky. The year 1881 is carved in the gravestone.
