HOWARD MARTIN HARNEY* (1916-1978), South Dakota & Wyoming Born 16 June 1916 in South Dakota, the son of Grover James Harney and Frances (Caffery), who ranched in NE Wyoming where the Baroil and IML bentonite plants now stand. Howard served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1934-38, then, being "tired of a pack and a rifle", enlisted in the Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor. Howard married Naty Eleanor (Clark) in 1942 at Laramie, Wyoming. It appears they divorced and she returned to Nebraska. Howard later married Dorothy Lee Burnett.
