Biography
Solomon was born in 1790 in Granville, Jackson, Tennessee, USA. He was the son of William Harp and Sally Stanton.
Solomon married Sarah Bohannan.
Solomon married a second time to Nancy Wright.
Solomon Harp served in the War of 1812 from Tennessee. Nancy, his second wife, applied for a pension on his service and told in her application of her marriage to Solomon Harp in Carroll Co., Arkansas. She applied from Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas, Jackson Township, 25 march 1878. She said Solomon Harp served under Capt. Daniel Newman as a private. Nancy was age 74 years at that date.
Solomon Harp applied for Bounty Land on that service on two occasions. Cert. #230 55 80 50 and # 31806 80 50. He was granted land on both occasions. Signing statements for Nancy Wright Harp were Nancy A. Massengale and Marth Jane Harp to support her claim. Martha Jane Harp and Nancy A. Massenglae were the wife and daughter of Elijah Bohannon Harp.
Solomon Harp probably lived for a while in Miller County.
