Biography
Cecelia (Harper) Gant was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
Birth
Cecilia was born in Victoria about 1885. She was the daughter of Honora Ryan and Samuel Harper [1]
Cecilia adopted the surname of her Uncle John (Flinn) Flynn (1844-1902). John married her mother Honoras sister Ann (Ryan) Flynn (abt.1844-1937). .The couple do not appear to have children of their own. Cecilia is listed as witness on his will in 1903 (he passed away in 1902 at the age of 55 in Victoria). When Cecilia married - she married as Cecilia Flynn and the record has been changed to Harper. Unable to find a marriage in Victoria for Cecilia and John Flynn but her childrens names are registered under a 'maiden name' of Harper-Flynn. Perhaps he acted as a father to her - as her own father died in 1902 as well.
Cecilia married James Gant (1879-1961) in Victoria in 1907. [2]

- Death registration fathers name is incorrect (not unusual and dependent on the informant). the other registration details have correct information.
Research Notes
I am not convinced that this information is correct. There has been a Cecilia Flynn born in Victoria who MAY have been the person that married Gant. I have searched the Victoria BDM And not found a marriage between FLynn/Harper or Flinn/Harper. only way to really establish htis is to get a copy of the death and marriage certificates.
