Bessie Harper was born on 11 Mar 1898 in Mount Enterprise, Rusk, Texas, United States, daughter of Smith H Harper and Mollie Mamie (McNary) Harper.

She married Earnest Leadon about 1918 (based on the birthdate of their eldest child). They had four children together.

She later married Will Anderson before 1930 (they had at least two children together) and then Calvin Choice before 1940.

Bessie died on 13 Mar 1997 in Dallas, Dallas, Texas, aged 99 and is buried in Campground Cemetery, Mount Enterprise, Texas.^{[1] [2] [3]}
