My father believes Kenneth (or possibly his father Peter) was a contemporary and acquaintance of Rudyard Kipling.

He was working as King's Counsel (I.e. a high court judge) in India, according to my father. At one point, he'd rented a bungalow in Uttar Pradesh (perhaps Naina Tol) for six months in anticipation of a legal case, but the case was over (against him) on two weeks.

Edit: this comes from a man my father met who was coming down from Naina Tol, and was to do with prosecution of revolutionaries opposing British imposed rule.
