Biography
Barrachel Elihu Harrell was born in 1839. He was the son of John Harrell and Sarah Strother. Also known as "Bell", Elihu, Barachiel.
He served in the 12th Virginia Cavalry regiment during the Civil War.
He married Fannie Brooke Bradford (1845-1941) (married about 1865-1869). Their known children are:

- Maggie M. Harrell Hall 1875- bef. 1920
- Carrie S Harrell Harrell Rohrbach 1877-1957
- Arthur Norman Harrell 1879-1932
- Clarence Glenn Harrell 1881-1956

- Mary Harrell 1889-
- Bessie R Harrell Burton 1892-1984
- Minnie Davis Harrell Lyles 1894-1980
The 1880 census of Salem, Fauquier, VA lists:
- Elihue Harrell 39 (Phot. Artist); Fannie, 22; Ida L, 8; Magie 5; Carrie 3; Arther 1. All born in VA.
In 1900 they are recorded in Prince George county, MD:
- B. Harrell, 61, farmer; Fannie B. 48; Clarence 19 farm laborer; Alvan 17 farm laborer; William 13; Mary 10; Bessie 7; Minnie 5.
He died in 1909 in Washington, D.C.[1] He is buried in Congressional Cemetery.
