David Harrell, Jr. was born in Bertie County, North Carolina. He was a son of David Harrell, Sr. and Charity Moore-Rawls.[1] His birth date is estimated from the date of his father's will,[2] dated 5 Jan 1767. David was named an heir and executor of his father's will, and so was at least 21 years old, making his birth date on or before 1745.[3]
On 10 May 1777, he married Celia Moor[4][5][6] and they made their home in Bertie County, North Carolina. Their marriage would be short-lived, however, for David wrote his will only a year later, on 24 May 1778.[7] The will was probated same date in Bertie County, North Carolina. There being no heirs, he left all his property to his wife, Celia.
No records are found revealing the cause of David's death at such a young age. He lived in troubled times. Perhaps he was a soldier.

Three sources were found to substantiate David's wife's name as "Celia Moor." Only a few family trees were found for "Celia Davis." If a source is found proving "Celia Davis" or linking the two, please post it; otherwise, Celia Davis should be disconnected as wife of David Harrell.
