Made the choice to change the spelling of the name Harriman to the German version of Herriman
Hezekiah was captured by a British warship in 1812 and was taken to Halifax and then on to Dartmore Prison in England where he was held captive for six months. Upon his release he returned to the state of Maine.
He was a ship captain and started a passenger line between Bangor Maine and Boston Massachusetts with two schooners called "Freetrade" and "Madawaska". This passenger line would first become the "Sanford S.S. Line" and then the "Bangor S.S. Company".
Hezekiah was a very well to do man.
