Sarah Celeste Harrington was born about 1812; her age was given as 17 years old when she was baptized a Catholic ceremony on 22 March 1829 in Lafayette, Louisiana. [1]Her parents were John Harrington and Lydia (Lede) French (France) which we know from baptism records.
She married Augustin Materne in 1831 in a civil ceremony in Lafayette, Louisiana at the Lafayette Court House. She was married to Augustin again in 1836 in a religious ceremony at St. Martin Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana. [2]
They had children: Celeste b. 1831, Augustus b. 1832, and Elodia b. 1836. She passed away on an unknown date presumably in Louisiana.
