Biography

Goldman Harris was born in 1758 in Granville County, North Carolina, the child of Claiborn and Judith. He was married twice. He had two children with Elizabeth Bell, White Harris and Azael Daniel Harris 1789 – 1870.

He died in 1832 in Pendleton, South Carolina, at the age of 74.

Goldman Harris of Granville Co., NC to Laiborn Haislip of aforesaid, December 31, 1781, for 20 pounds, a certain tract or parcel of land lying on Little Creek containing by estimation 40 acres, be the same more or less; Beginning on Little Creek where William Williams line crosses the said Creek, thence South to a corner Pine, thence South 38 degrees East 181 poles to a corner Red Oak, then North 66 degrees East to Little Creek, thence up the said Creek to the first station. Goldman Harris. Wit: William Williams Jurat. Susen [sic] (X) Holston. Granville County May Court 1782. This deed was duly proved by the oath of William Williams & ordered to be registered.
