Biography

Martha Herris was a daughter of John Herris of Chevening, Kent.[1]

Martha 'Herrie' was baptised on 19 Dec 1637 at Chevening, Kent, daughter of John.[2]

Marriage and Children

Martha Herris of Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, age 22, daughter of John Herris of Chipstead, Kent, married by Licence dated 01 Dec 1660, John Wyberd of London, gent, Haberdasher, age 23, eldest son of William Wyberd, Haberdasher, and Mary, daughter of John Withers of London, Draper.[1][3]

Death

Date and place unknown.

She was living in 1670 when she, her husband and others were defendants in a case against a James Quilter.[5]

It is presumed Martha's husband was the John Wyberd, gent, from New prison Walke, who was buried on 31 Mar 1698 at St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex.[6]

The will of John Wyberd, Haberdasher of the City of London, of St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex, was undated. It was attested as valid on 11 Apr 1698 by John Darres and Sir Robert Darres, knight, of St James Clerkenwell, and proved 13 Apr 1698.[4] The Testator made bequests to his two daughters Frances Wyberd and Jane Wyberd.
