John Harris Jr was born to John Harris Sr and Susannah "Sukey" Herring on 12 Nov 1800. [1]

Elizabeth Herring daughter of James and Elizabeth Herring was married to John Harris son of John Harris Oct 31st 1822[1]

Note: Francis Hodges said he name was Pennie but there is a y on the end of the name
  • Anna Harris was born May 24th 1825
  • Julia Harris was born Nov. 16th 182 7 ? - Taped
  • Cartha Harris Budd Casey- taped - born Dec. 5th 1829
NOTE: Francis Hodges gives her name as Catherine but Cartha appears to be how it is spelled in the Bible
  • Elizabeth Harris Holmes was born Aug. 6th 1838
  • First entry taped and only the first letter is readable - a J - born in March
NOTE: Francis Hodges said they did have a son James
NOTE: James Harris son of John and Elizabeth Harris died May the 17th 1863 in Richmond[1]
  • John William Harris was born June 18th 1835


John died in the Neuse River.

John was buried at Holmes-Barwick-Harris Family Cemetery, Indian Springs, North Carolina. His memorial has links to those of family members.[3]
