Edward Harris was born in Appalachia, in Virginia.
James Edward Harris was born in Scott County, Virginia January 20, 1779, son of James Polk Harris (1752–1836) and Sarah Pattie Gearheart (abt. 1755–1841).
James (25) married Sara Sallie Yates (20) (born 1783 in Pittsylvania, Virginia; daughter of Stephen Yates (1750–1836) and Lydia (Parsons) Yates (abt. 1756–1805)) December 4, 1804 in Pittsylvania, Virginia[1]
Their son was William Billy Harris (1808–1898).
James (59) married Charlotte C. Tyree (28) (born about 1809 in Virginia) September 6, 1838 in Powhatan County, Virginia. Their children were:
