Jack was born in 1913,[1][2] the second born and oldest son to Charles Edward Harris and Nelia Heath Ivey . His siblings were: Addie Louise, Agnes Mae, Ella Beatrice, and Claude Milton.

He married Barbara H Quinn, daughter of Joseph William Quinn and Marion L Powell, after 1950. He was about 37 years and was her 2nd of three husbands. He did not have any children. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 50.[2][8][9]
