Biography

Frederick Henry HARRIS was born 1872 at Howe's Valley the son of Thomas HARRIS and Ellen DOUGLAS, he died 1936 at "Fairyarn" near Wollombi. He married Evelyn MCTAGGART 1897 at Wollombi.

1936 Sep 9 Wednesday Argus: TOP OF HEAD BLOWN OFF, SON'S SHOCKING DISCOVERY.

With the top of the head blown off, the body, of Frederick Henry Harris, aged 63, a grazier of "Fairyarn," near Wollombi, was found by his son, Mr F. E. Harris, at the back of his home shortly before midday on Saturday last. The son had just returned from Wollombi when he discovered his father, who was the only person at the home. A shotgun was lying across the body and an empty cartridge, it is stated, was found in the breech. There were no suspicious circumstances. It is understood that Harris had been, suffering from nervous strain for the last two years. He is survived by his widow and a family of sons and daughters.
