Biography

Stephen was born about 1805.[1][2] He was the son of William Harris and Mary Casey.

DNA match (to be added) of a descendant of daughter Rebecca, to four James WIlliam Harris descendants confirms that this is the brother of James William Harris.

1821 Muhlenberg Land Deed Record

Stephen, his parents, and his siblings, are identified through the following court record of 1821 in which a land deed is being transferred to the survivors of WIlliam Harris Jr. deceased.

John and Jane Morgan of Muhlenberg Co, deed to Polly Harris, widow of William Harris, dec’d, and to Charles Harris, Sally Shuffield formerly Sally Harris, Stephen Harris, James Harris, A. Harris, and Betsy Harris, for $170 paid to him by said William Harris in his lifetime, 100 acres on Isaacs Creek in Muhlenberg Co. bordering Charles C. Sumner, Peter Boggess, and Thomas Irvin.[3]

Marriage

Stephen married Sarah Coleman in Kentucky 28 Aug 1827.[4]
