Tricy was born on 10 June 1784 in Rockingham, Virginia. She married Rodney Bowlin on 19 Nov 1807 in Rockingham, North Carolina. According to the gravestone that she shares with her husband, they had 17 children. Records for 15 of their children have been found, so two either died at birth or at a very young age. Below is her obituary from the Du Quoin News.
Tricy died on 20 June 1878 in Franklin, Illinois. She was buried in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery in rural Perry, Illinois.[1]

Tricy Bowlin, relict of Rodney Bowlin and mother of J.A. Bowlin died at the residence of her son-in-law, Alex House, in Franklin County on the afternoon of the 20th. last at the advanced age of 94 years 10 days.
The deceased was born in Rockingham County, old Virginia, June 10th. 1784; was married to Rodney Bowlin in 1805, and in 1815 moved from Virginia to Smith County, Tenn. where she lived until 1825, then she moved to Davidson County, same state and remained there until 1829 when she together with her family came to Perry County and settled on what is known as the Burbank Hill near old Du Quoin, the place now occupied by Esq. H. L. Burbank.
She was the mother of seventeen children, 8 of whom are now living, the oldest of her family being 72 years of age and the youngest 44. She survived the death of her husband by nearly 44 years and prior to her last illness often rode a distance of ten or fifteen miles without apparent fatigue. ( She was riding side saddle)
Rodney died from a bee sting while eating a honey comb. Leaving Tricy with 17 children and only a $8.00 per month pension from Rodney's military service during the War of 1812.
She was one of the pioneer settlers of the county, and at the time of her death, nearly or quite the oldest person in the county. Of late years she remained at home pretty steadily, only coming to town occasionally to do her trading, yet she retained her faculties to a remarkable degree, her sight being very good and her hearing acute. She made her home with her son John Bowlin, being on a visit to her son-in-law as above stated at the time of her death.
