census all show her living with her parents in West Bromwich. As may be seen from the census records, over the years her recorded occupation varies switching, for some unknown reason, from school teaching to dress making. In 1881 she is a Pupil teacher and appears to be following the same career path as her elder sisters, but by 1891 she has switched to become a Dressmaker. By 1901 she has reverted back to teaching and is an Assistant School Mistress however the 1911 census describes her as a Draper and General Store shop keeper.
It seems that Clara never marries nor does her sister Flora and they can be seen resident together on the last currently available census of 1911

living in West Bromwich. By which time Clara would have been in her forties.
Doris Clark frequently talked about a Clara's shop which was opposite her parents home in Vicarage Road West Bromwich, whether this is the same 'Clara' would be an interesting discovery!
She passed away about 1949 - note citation required
