Biography

William Harris was born about 1805-1806[1] in Muddy Creek, Madison, Kentucky to Judge John Harris and Margaret Maupin.[2]

William married Malinda (spelling?) Duncan[2] (1808-1873) on 7 Feb 1829 in Madison County, Kentucky[3] and had at least one son, John Duncan Harris (1829-1905)[1][2] and possibly a daughter (name not known).[4]

On 4 Sept 1850, William (45), who was working as a farmer in the agriculture business, Malinda (42), and son, John Duncan Harris (1829-1905) (20) and his wife (their daughter-in-law), Nancy Jane (White) Harris (1832-1903) (18) were living as a family unit in District 1, Madison County, Kentucky.[5]

Major William Harris died about at the age of 65-66 in 1872-1873[1] and was placed to rest at the Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky.[1]
