Nathaniel was born in 1833 in Missouri (probably Boone). He was the son of John Harris and Nancy Haden. He started working on the McCormick farm as a teenager. On 14 Oct 1858 in Boone County, MO, he married Sabina C. Onan.[1] They had six known children:
William Walter (c.1861 - d. bef.1900)
Mary "Mollie" (c.1864-aft.1936), named in John's 1936 obituary, "Mollie Harris of Pineland, TX..."
Edgar (c.1867-)
James "Jim" (c.1868-), married Dora Hughes in 1891
Charles 'Charlie' (c.1873-aft.1936), named in John's 1936 obituary, "Charlie Harris of Athens, TX..."
By June 11, 1880 Sabina had died[3] (possibly in childbirth with son John) and Nathaniel was shown living in Panola, TX with his children. He ultimately moved in with son John and his family. It was here he passed away in 1908, age 75. He is buried at the New Prospect Cemetery.
