High sheriff of Orange County during the Regulator uprising when Caswell was a part of Orange. Conveyed by `deed of gift` 700 acres along with the 180 acres Harris homeplace that had been granted to him by Lord Granville. This land was the land that Tyree Harris, Jr. sold to William Swift, his father-in-law, following Sheriff Harris` death.
