Robert T. Harrison the son of John and Mildred Harrison was born 31 March 1830 in Madison county, Tennessee. When Robert was 16 his father died and his older brother James became his guardian and managed his share of the estate. Robert later became a homeopathic doctor and may have gotten his training in Nashville. He was in the civil war serving as a quartermaster. After the war Robert married probably in Tennessee to Martha "Mattie" Muncy and they moved to Conway Arkansas where Robert was at various times the owner of a drug store, Post master, Mayor, Doctor. He was said to have donated some land for the benefit of the city as well. It is said that later in life he ran off with his nurse and started a new famiy in Garland county/ Hot Springs area; Where he was also a doctor. He died in 1899 when his carriage was swept away by a flood on Mazern creek which he was crossing to make a house in his capacity as country doctor. He is buried in Garland County with a tombstone.
