Biography

Richard Harrison III was born in 1718 at Herring Creek, Saint Mary's County, Maryland, the original plantation owned by Richard Harrison and where he lived with his 2nd wife (mother of all his children), from 1717 to 1719, when they moved to "Harriton House" (formerly called "Bryn Mawr"), in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His younger brothers & sisters were all born at Harriton House. [1]

Richard Harrison III was the son of Richard Harrison and Hannah (Norris) Harrison (1696-1774), daughter of Isaac Norris (1671-1735). Isaac Norris was a wealthy Philadelphia merchant and a personal friend of Sir William Penn, founder and Proprietor of the colony of Pennsylvania. The family were Quakers. He had served as Mayor of Philadelphia in 1724.

Nothing more is known of Richard Harrison III except that he passed away in 1731 when he was not yet 13 years old. He had no wife or children.
