Biography

Maria Hannah Harrison was born on the 2nd May 1860[1][2] at Greenwich, Kent, England[3][4][5] and baptised as Maria Anna on the 20th May 1860 at St. Alphege, Greenwich, Kent, England, the daughter of William Harrison (labourer) and Caroline Harrison of Old Woolwich Road[1]

On the 25th December 1879, Maria Harrison married Thomas Seagrove at Christ Church, Greenwich, Kent, England. Thomas Seagrove, bachelor, fisherman of Newcastle Street, son of James Seagrove (fisherman) and Maria Harrison, spinster of Newcastle Street, daughter of William Harrison (fisherman). Witnessed by Philis Harrison & Emily Harrison[6]

On the 11th April 1900, Maria (wife of Thomas Seagrove, a waterman of 16 Billingsgate Street) and her 7 children: Ernest (11), Mabel (10), John (8), Maud (6), Rose (5), Charles (3) and Ellen (1 1/2) were admitted to Greenwich Workhouse due to destitution[7].
