My maiden name is Harrison, and my father Richard Henry Harrison was a direct descendent of Pres. William Henry Harrison of the Harrison family of Virginia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrison_family_of_Virginia). His mother was Grace Yarborough whose younger brother Ralph was a US Senator from TX. My mother Louise Nelson Rand's parents were Louise Nelson and Philip Scribner Rand. My grandmother's maternal parents emigrated from Tayside, Scotland to Canada where she was born. My mother's father was an enthusiastic genealogist in the pre-internet age (he died in 1996) and produced a binder for each of his grandchildren on the genealogy of the Rand Family from 1635 (the year Robert Rand emigrated from England to New England) to 1987 (the year he finished).
