P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Yes, I've been on Ancestry a long time too. I agree, this is very different here. I love the collaborative nature of this site and there is much more interaction between members as we are building one single tree. The single-tree concept is like FamilySearch if you have used that site.
As regards privacy, you can decide how much you divulge. Personally, on my own profile, I have just put my year of birth not the exact date and have not given an exact place either. I have also chosen not to add any close living relatives to WikiTree.
