Biography

Birth - Since Nathaniel recieved land from his father in 1747, he was probably at least 21 at the time, which would give him an estimated birth year of before 1726.

Deeds

Brunswick Co., VA, DB 3, p. 322, 6 May 1747: “Gabril Harrison of Bath Parish in Prince George Co to his son Nathaniel Harrison of St Andrew Parish in Brunswick Co. Deed of gift. 180 acres which had been a patent to sd Gabril Harrison dated 7 Jul 1726, on both sides of Sturgeon Run, joining Reedy Beaverpond Branch. Witnesses omitted. Proved 6 May 1747.” [1]

Brunswick Co., VA, DB 3, p. 537, 4 Jan 1748: “Robert Gee of St Andrew Parish in Brunswick Co to Nathaniel Harrison of same. £37s10 VA. 413 acres which was part of a patent to sd Robert Gee dated 12 Jan 1746, on the south side of Sturgeon Runn, joining Lanier, Read Harrison, Harwell, Lloyd. Wit: M. Cadet Young, Henry Morris, William Morris. Proved 2 Mar 1748.” [2]

Brunswick Co., VA, DB 10, p. 229, 23 Sep 1771: “Samuel Harwell & his wife Abey of St Andrew Parish in Brunswick Co to Nathaniel Harrison of sd parish. [£]200 VA. 209 acres as by patent to Samuel Harwell Sr of Prince George Co 28 Sep 1728, on both sides of Stergion Run. Wit: Thomas Stith, Josias Randle. Proved 23 Sep 1771. [3]

Brunswick Co., VA, DB 14, p. 97, 26 Feb 1781: “Nathaniel Harrison Sr of Brunswick Co to Nathaniel Harrison Jr & James Harrison, sons of Gabriel Harrison dec’d & grandsons of sd Nathaniel Harrison Sr. Deed of gift. 335 acres on the south side of Stergeon Run (300 acres from the tract sd Nathaniel Harrison had bought from Robert Gee & another tract surveyed in his own name, & 35 acres from the tract purchased from Samuel Harwell), sd tracts to be continued together until the sd grantees come of age & then to be divided. (witnesses omitted) Proved 26 Feb 1781. [4]
