John L. Harrison Dead John L. Harrison, one of Ray County's well known citizens died at his home near Richmond Wednesday, March 26, 1902. Mr. Harrison was born in Flemingsburg, Ky., April 22, 1840. He came to Ray County with his parents in 1841. He followed farming, after he graduated from Richmond College in 1859. He served in the Confederate Army from the beginning of the war until 1862, when he was taken prisoner. He remained in prison until he was pardoned by President Lincoln in 1864. Mr. Harrison was married Jan, 16, 1867, to Miss Mary M. Magill, daughter of Wm. Magill. He is a brother-in-law of our fellow townsman W. H. Magill. Funeral services will be in charge of Dr. T. H. B. Anderson of Mobley. Burial at City Cemetery Friday[1]
