Biography

Several documents from Westmoreland Co., VA and original manuscripts from George Washington have information about Lovell Harrison

Deed Book 11 page 236, Westmoreland Co., VA records in 1750 Lovell Harrison divesting himself of part of the family property, 150 acres where he lives. In 1755 he is again selling to Andrew Monroe the place where he lives on the Potomac River. This document also records the exemption of one-half acre as the burial ground of his mother and father, Andrew and Mary Harrison. This cemetery has not been found in that it is over 200 years old.

417 Named in 1726 Will of his grandfather Robert Lovell (W.B. 8, p. 47) and a petition in Court April 29, 1740 "sets forth his father Andrew Harrison xx personal estate to be equally divided between petitioner, his mother and three other children xx that petitioner's mother is the relict of the said Andrew Harrison intermarryed with Christopher Edrington" and asked for division (Orders p.44).

He and Hannah Harrison, his wife, leased 176 a. on Machiodock Neck to Walter Jameison Dec 25, 1750 for six years, land being tract in" Lease for Lives" to Hannah and her father John Footman 1758 (D.B. p.266).

Lovell Harrison and wife Hannah sold 100 a to Jeremiah Carter (D.B.11 p.411 May 11 1752), being land originally purchased by her grandfather John Footman March 25, 1691 (Orders p. 19), and devised Hannah Footman by her father's Will 1739 (W.B. 9, p. 32).

Lovell Harrison died intestate but Hannah Footman Harrison died 1793 leaving Will (W.B.18, p. 295) naming her late husband and all children. 417

He married Hannah FOOTMAN - 2028, daughter of John FOOTMAN - 6782 & Ann SORRELL - 6783, 1739 in Westmoreland Co. VA. Born 1718. Died 1793 in Westmoreland Co. VA. Residence Westmoreland Co. VA. Sources1,24,417.

Hannah lists her children in her will Will book 18 p. 295 in Westmoreland Co., VA but does not mention John Footman Harrison probably since he did not survive her. 417

Research: 418 Ann Harrison ,dau of Lovell Harrison, md. David Rousseau. Child:James and Hillaire Rousseau. David Rousseau died in 1748 Culpepper Co. VA. Ann Harrison Rousseau md 2nd. Samuel Dogan.

Hillaire Rousseau's son, David moved to Wilkes Co. NC; then to Indiana. My line.

"Really having problems with Ann Harrisons father Lovell Harrison II. Dont know who he married - other children or anything."

Andrew Harrison, Jr. was the son of Andrew harrison Sr. of Old Rappahannock Co. VA d. 1686, wife Thomosine. Whether they were cousins of the President I dont know.

Confusing. The data area says he died in Louisa Co. The biography only mention Westmoreland Co. which is in a different area of VA.
