Biography

Gerald was born January 5, 1937 in Danville, Pennsylvania, United States. His parents were Abe Harrison, a Russian immigrant, and Sadye (Bresnick) Harrison[1] (see Notes).

In 1950, Gerald (age 13) lived at 330 Urch Street in Sunbury, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States with his father Abe (age 49), mother Sadye (age 45), and sister Rosella (age 21). His paternal uncle George (age 41) also lived with the family. His father was proprietor of a furniture store and Rosella and George were sales clerks in a shoe store.[2]

Jerry married Bonnie Unknown and they had two children, Renee and Shelly. In 1987 the family lived in Belleville, Pennsylvania, United States.[3] It is not known whether their marriage ended in divorce, but Jerry's obituary strangely does not mention his wife or children, but says that he had a close friend, Marie (Isenberg) Marshall.[1]

Gerald, who was a member of the Hershey Italian Club, enjoyed lifelong passions of old cars and jazz music. Prior to owning the Record Nook & Hobby Shoppe in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, United States, Gerald worked at All Star Ford & McCardles Motors-Hoffman Ford in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States and Super Cars in Reedsville, Pennsylvania, United States.[1]

Gerald died May 7, 2003 at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. He was buried May 9, 2003 in the Ohev Sholom Cemetery in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, United States[4] following a graveside service officiated by Rabbi Carl Shoper. A special memorial service for Jerry was held May 12, 2003 at the Susquehanna Valley Church of God with the Dr. Rev. James E. Johnman, Sr. Pastor officiating.[1]

Notes

Although all Gerald's relatives believe him to be the son of Abe Harrison and Sadye (Bresnick) Harrison, who are designated as his parents in his obituary,[1] in the 1940 census Gerald's last name was listed as Bresnick and his parents were listed as Sadye's brother, Donald Bresnick and Abe's sister, Eva (Harrison) Bresnick.[5]
