John G. Hart was born circa 1829/1830, in Kentucky. He met Martha C. Shoults in Missouri and they were married circa 1854. John and Martha traveled with her parents, Jacob and Rachel Shoults to Fayette county, Texas. Jacob died sometime prior to 1870, when his widow is found on the United States Census, living with her daughter and son-in-law. [1]
John G. Hart is found on the Fayette county Tax rolls in 1867 [2] and 1871 [3] John died January 9, 1877, in Fayette county, Texas and is buried in the Rector Cemetery, as are his wife and in-laws. [4]
