Charles William Hart November 22, 1921 - January 6, 2016 Charles William HartELKHART- Charles Hart 94 passed away at home Wednesday afternoon with his daughter Rebecca by his side. Rebecca and Joe Winer had been his caregivers for the last ten years. Charles was born to Gay and Orpha (Graves) Hart in Ft. Wayne. He later went to Elkhart schools where he graduated. In June of 1942 he would marry the love of his life Elsina(Baer) before being drafted to the U.S. Army and being shipped out in September of 1942. Charles would take a job with the US postal service where he would retire with them and receive fifty year service award. Among other things Charles was an avid golfer where in his career he would hit not one but two hole in ones in his life. He was also a charter member of the Mr. and Mrs. Club of Elkhart. Together Charles and his wife Elsina would raise three children who survive Sharon (Richard) Growcock, Rebecca (Joe) Winer and Charles Hart, also surviving are seven grandchildren Danielle, Deidra, Andrew, Gretchen, Sam, Michelle and C.J. and eleven great-grandchildren, sisters Betty(Robert)Reafsnyder, Juanita(Boyd)Smith. Charles was preceded in death by his spouse, parents, sister Mary Smith half brothers Merle France and Loyd France, half sister Goldie . A gathering of family and friends will be January 16, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola IN 46561 starting at12:00PM-2:00PM with a funeral service starting at 2:00pm with Father Sasa Nedic officiating burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The familys preferred memorial is the St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church 59248 Keria Trail South Bend IN 46614
