Waycross Journal Herald (GA) - Monday, September 12, 2005 Harold E. "Booty" Hart, 82, of Waycross, died Saturday morning (Sept. 10, 2005) at Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born in Waycross to the late C.M. Hart and Estelle Williams Hart, he had made his home in Waycross all of his life. He was a 1942 graduate of Waycross High School and a 1949 graduate of Mercer University. He served in World War II with the United States Army Air Corps as a B-29 Radio Operator.

He worked for 25 years as co-owner of Hereford Hart Insurance Agency and then went on to work as chief clerk for CSX Railroad before his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Elks Club. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Butler Hart of Waycross; three sons, Harold E. Hart Jr. and his wife Marian of Birmingham, Ala., Hamilton B.L. Hart and his wife Judy of Marietta and Jon L. Hart and his wife Brenda of New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren, Alan Hart and Meredith Hart of Birmingham, Heather Denis and her husband Brian of Woodstock and Anna Arrington and her husband Matthew of Woodstock, Jon L. Hart Jr. and Hillary Hart of Dallas; a sister, Evelyn Langford of Brunswick.
