Seth Hart is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A205003.

Seth Hart was born in 1757. Seth passed away in 1845.

Seth and all his siblings left Mass around 1785. Two of his brothers ended up in different parts of Maine. The only record of him being in NH is a court record from Francestown and the Deering Town Record that lists himself and his wife and children. It is notable that Seth's sister, Susannah married Enoch Holmes and they moved to Francestown, NH. Seth moved with his sisters family to Francestown, with his wife, Molly and son, Lewis around 1790. He had at least 2 more children, Francis and Fanny. By 1810, when Francis was a young man and before Fanny was born, they moved on to Sharon, VT where he appears on the 1810 census along with his first son Lewis also as a head of household. There is also a marriage record for his son Lewis in Sharon in 1812. They are the only two Harts in Sharon at the time. Lewis moved out of state after 1820. and ended up in 1850 Illinois census.

Seth Hart resided at Walpole, and about 1790 went to Deering, N.H., and about 1799 went to Sharon, Vt. He sold his share of his father's estate in Walpole, Feb. 5, 1801; deed recorded at Dedham, book 15, page 25. He died in 1836.

Seth Hart was a private soldier in Lexington, Mass., alarm, April 19, 1775, served ten days in Col. John Smith's regiment, and enlisted Aug. 15, 1777, from Walpole, as a private in War of the Revolution, Capt. Aaron Smith's company, Col. Benjamin Gill's regiment,; discharged Nov. 29, 1777.
