Note
Note: From the files of Mrs. Diana Davisson, Huntington Beach, CA:
At Mary's funeral, 10 apr 1911, at Greene, Butler Co., IA, the team drawing the hearse ran away. A pair of frisky horses became scared and ran around and around and around the Church of the Brethren, and finally stopped halfway up the church steps. Luckily the hearse did not turn over. This would have been bad enough, but the st ory has an ironic twist. All of Mary's life (and she died at the age of 74 yr., 8 m., and 2d) she always was deathly afraid of horses.
