Note
Note: From the Way Back When article, in the Hagerstown IN Exponent dated Oct 27 1999: Oct 30 1919: Emory Harter, who with Mrs. Harter and daughter, Miss Laverne, moved last week to the five-room bungalow of George Harter on N. Pearl Street, has purchased the property from Mr. Harter. Included in the transfer are the two vacant lots abutting on the south, and cornering at the northwest corner of Pearl and Harrison streets. Mr. Harter is said to have changed his bank account in the favor of the former owner in the sum of $2,450. Emory will use thw two vacant lots next season for the exercising of his gardening propensities, and not being afraid to wield the hoe or other tools of the garden, his new neighbors need not be
surprised at prodigious results he will reap from his new garden spot.
