John was born in 1799. He was the son of J. George Harter and Mary Miller. He passed away in 1872. He died penniless at the home of his father.
Research Notes
According to his nephew, George Harter (1833-1916), John married a "shiftless extra vagrant woman." This comment was in a 1909 letter written to his youngest son, Lloyd.
