Charlotte (Hardt) Bigelman has roots in the region now known as Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
Charlotte was born 11 December 1827 and baptized in Gemunden (Gemünden a.Main), Germany the daughter of unmarried Johann Casper Hardt, a locksmith from Barmen, and Johanette Rufert living in Berghan. Her birth was legitimized by the 10 Feb 1828 marriage of her parents.[1]
