Thx 2 u 4 this. I am Jerry starling my mother, Ruth Chastain; interestingly, my father's mother, Allie, was a Chastain. The 2 Chastain fathers both had initials HMC, and at 1 time, they lived on the same street in Tampa, FL

They once compared family history and decided they were 4th or 5th cousins, according to my Mom, Ruth who is now deceased. I have names in my Mom's Bible, but no dates. Allie Chastain (died 1979?) Starling's parents were Homer M Chastain & Rebecca (sp) Jane Kelly; N Ruth Chastain (b. 3.14.1919, d. 7.22.2015 in Winter Garden, FL) Starling's parents were Henry M Chastain & Ruth E Bowen.

It was the curious name, Starling Chastain, that interested me since my family tree has Chastains on both sides

Welcome, Cousin! Bess Jackson Hartley was my great aunt. We visited her and Nannie (Berta Dottery Jackson) in Athens every summer and winter vacation growing up.
