Biography

Daniel Harty (1847-1870)

Daniel Harty, son of Margaret Eslinger and Jacob Harty was a farmer who also served in the dutifully in the military, his family receiving pensions after his early death in 1870. His father, Jacob Harty (1814-1907) born in Greene County of eastern Tennesee, married Margaret Eslinger in Burlington, Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi River. Jacob's children were born in Des Moines, Iowa and Missouri, before the civil war.

Daniel Harty (1847-1870)

In 1862, Daniel Harty enrolled in the Militia of Des Moines County, Iowa as a farmer from Augusta, Iowa stating his age as 22.[2]

1866 - Daniel Harty (the farmer) was part of the Iowa State militia in 1866 at the age of 22 (1867).[3]

1867 - Daniel Hardy was part of the Iowa State Militia in 1867 for Guthrie County.[4]

11 Dec 1882 Daniel Hardy family received a pension from Iowa, USA for Infanty Regiment 29 rank of Cor. [5]

23 Jun 1883 - Daniel W Hardy family received a pension for work as a surgeon.[6]

5 Jun 1908 - Daniel P Hardy family received a pension for Infantry Regiment 42.[7]
