Marion says that Horace was born in Sparta, Wisconsin and had no siblings. Harriet said Horace died in 1966 just 10 days short of his65th birthday, which suggests he was born in 1901. Marilyn remembers his birth date as 9/18 but can't remember the exact year. Horace died in Oregon where he lived with his second wife Harriett. She told me he died in 1966. I found this death index for a Horace A. Hartzell who died in Oregon in 1966 and had wife Harriett. But the date wasn't quite right. He went by "Tony" and told people his middle name was Anthony. But Marilyn says Tony was a nickname from toe-head and his middle name was Elliott. The 1930 census show Horace E..
