Biography

Richard Harvey was born to John Harvey and Susannah (Ash) Harvey during the Apr-May-June Quarter of 1845 in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, England, UK.[1] He was baptized into the Church of England on 8 June 1845 in Ewerby, Lancashire, England, UK.[2]

When Richard was just 3 months old, he joined his father, mother, and sister Frances, in immigrating to the United Sates on the ship Malabar. Departing from Liverpool, England, they arrived at Boston, Massachusetts on 30 August 1845.[3][4] Then they made their way westward, settling in Fairfield Township, Huron, Ohio by 1847.[5]

In February 1860, Richard was in Hartland, Ohio. A tree fell on him and he lived for only 15 minutes after that.[6]
