Biography

John was born about 1800 in Ireland. [1]

In the 1861 Scotland census, John (age 60), Coal Carter, was the head of household in a private house in Mearns, Renfrewshire. With him were his wife Margaret, their daughter-in-law and her child, and two boarders.[2]

John J Harvey (age 82), General Hawker, widower of Margaret McGrale, passed away on 24 Sep 1883 at Newton Mearns, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His father was Patrick Harvey, a Weaver; mother's name unknown. His half-brother Martin Harvey was the informant. [1]
