Biography

Frances was born in 1915. She was the daughter of Leslie Harvey and Bernice Feasel. She passed away in 2009.


Lansing State Journal (Lansing, MI), 29 Oct 1938, page 6 - Entertains for Bridal Party Following Wedding Rehersal: Mr & Mrs L.R. Harvey entertained members of the briday party and their friends Friday evening in the parlor of the North Presbyterian Church following the rehearsal for the wedding of their daughter, Frances and Robert Angell, which will take place Saturday evening.

Lansing State Journal (Lansing, MI) - 17 Jun 2009 - Frances L. Angell, age 94, passed away June 14, 2009 in Lansing. She was born Jan 9, 1915 in Lansing to Leslie & Bernice Harvey. Following graduation from Lansing Central, she attended Lansing Business University. She worked as a secretary for many years. She served as president of the Sheridan Road School Board and the Women's Clubhouse of Lansing, and was national president of the 32nd Red Arrow Division Ladies Auxilliary. She was on the board of directors of the Downton Coaches Club. She received their Spartan Spirit Award in 2001. Frances also served as secretary of her 1932 Central Class Reunion Committee. She was an avid Michigan State University football and basketball supporter. Frances loved dancing, playing bridge, and travelling. She attended teh 1966 Rose Bowl, the 1967 Kentucky Derby, and the 1979 NCAA Final Four Tournament. She was active with the MSU Rebounders Club, the 32nd Division Red Arrow Group, MSU Retirees, National Guard Support Command, and several retired officers groups.

She married Robert D Angell in 1938. They were married 51 years. He preceeded her in death in 1989. Frances is survived by her sons: William (Donna) Angell of LaSalle, CO; and Richard (Leslie) Angell of Auburn Hills, MI; grandchildren: Blake (Kirsten) Angell of Ellis, KS; Miki (Steven) Kissler of LaSalle, CO; Missy Angell of Evans, CO; Nic Angell of Hollywood, CA; and Kevin Angell of East Lansing; and great grandchildren: Tyler, Makayla, and Seth Kissler, of LaSalle, CO; She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Teller of Sun City, AZ; nephew, Gilbert (Marilyn) Jessen of Potterville; nice Jan Jessen of Sun City, AZ; Sookie Angell of East Lansing, as well as numerous extended family and special friends.
