Agnes was born about 1878 in Louisiana.[1] She was the daughter of William H. Harvey and Agnes Noland. Agnes (Harvey) Shields died 13 May 1959 in Tallulah, Madison, Louisiana, USA.[2]
She married Leo "Sheilds" 19 July 1899, Madison Parish, Louisiana.[3][4]
The 1920 census finds the family ages 51, 41, and 14, joined by nephew Arnold T Shields, age 26.[6]

Birth date: Tombstone image has 1874 and her obituary, published in 1959, says she was 85.[7] Looking at census records, however, she would have been born in 1878 or 1879 (e.g., she is 31 in the 1910 census, 41 in the 1920 census, and 62 in the 1940 census - see Leo's PID sources, listed below).
Her FindAGrave Memorial did not include sources to support specific birth date and location. It did have a transcription of her obituary:[7]
TALLULAH (Special) — Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday for Mrs. Agnes Harvey Shields, 85, who succumbed here Wednesday, after a long illness.
Rites were held from the St. Edwards Catholic Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Father Hopp officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Will Adams; Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Cook, Jackson, Miss.; and Mrs. Fred Johnson, Shreveport; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arnold Shields, C. C. Adams, A. H. Willett, Curtis Barlow, J. M. Gilfoil, W. H. Harvey Jr., and Adrian Willett.
