Biography

My late mother remembers her great grandmother Jane from about the age of 3 and remembers that she spoke French as well as English (coming from the Channel Islands)

Jane Harvey was born in about 1850 in Alderney, Guernsey, the daughter of Elisha Harvey. ^[1]

She married John Martin on 26 September 1874 at St Peter's church, Frampton Cotterell, Gloucestershire.^[2]

In 1881 she was with her father and 2 children in Barrow in Furness, Lancashire.^[1]
