Experience Harvey was born around 1715, probably at Taunton, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay, and died around Nov 1774, at Taunton. [1] She was the daughter of Thomas Harvey and Mary Huckins. [1] According to a user-submitted source, [2] Thomas was born in Taunton around 1669, and about 1694 was married to Mary. He was by trade a carpenter. In 1700 he was a member of the “First Military Company” of Taunton, and in 1710 a member of the “First Foot Company.” On 21 May 1706 he was impressed as a soldier for Queen Anne’s War, [3] and died at Taunton, around Feb 1748, as did his wife Mary, around 1756. The names and dates of four children are given; note that Experience's birth date predates the information given above (abt 1715) by two decades. [2]
A Boston newspaper clipping from 14 Apr 1913, [4] states that Experience married Amos Ball (1709-abt 1791) on 07 Jan 1738, at Taunton, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay. The marriage ended with her death in Nov 1774. [1] He died 17 yrs later around 1791. [5] Amos and Experience had five children, [5] and possibly a sixth, Hannah: [6]
