Biography

Ethel Gladys Harwood was born Welford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, 1900. ^[1]

She was the daughter of farm labourer John Henry Harwood & Margaret Annie Unknown. ^[2]

A newborn in 1901 she resided Welford with her parents. ^[2]

Aged 10 in 1901 she resided Welford with her parents and two younger brothers, Ernest and Albert. ^[3]

She would have witnessed the events of World War I, between 1914 and 1918.

She married Albert E Portman, Bromsgrove, around February 1920. ^[4]

Their daughter Edith Margaret Portman was born Stratford on Avon, around November 1920. ^[5]
